@flaglergarden has joined forces with the City of Fort Lauderdale's Green Your Routine program to offer FREE Wildlife Habitat gardens at #NightOwlMarket this Saturday. @homedepot of #FortLauderdale has graciously donated over $10,000.00 worth of materials (planters, plants, soil, etc.) for the DIY construction of 75 habitats!! Funds are also being contributed by Flagler Village Civic Association to cover the expense of official certification with the National Wildlife Federation. Once these 75 habitats are complete, the City of Fort Lauderdale will officially be recognized as a Community Wildlife Habitat -- a designation that has been years in the making! 75 Fort Lauderdale residents can take advantage of this $150+ value DIY activity at Night Owl Market Street Festival this Saturday, June 20th from 5-11pm (first come, first served). Not only are you helping your community, but your own home will be considered a certified wildlife habitat! Pretty amazing!

In the spare time of our Leadership Team, we have begun building a new website. Most of it is in place structurely, but we need to load content and pictures and continue building out ideas that have come in from our active residents. So if you come across a page that is going back to the home page, that means we're not done yet. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
So who are we? The Lake Ridge Civic Association, Inc. (LRCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale known as Lake Ridge. Our neighborhood is located on the north side of Sunrise BLVD, east side of Flagler RD, southside of NE 13th Street, and west side of Federal HWY. We work with with everyone possible from residents at the street level on up to the Fort Lauderdale Commission and even higher if necessary. We are trying to meet all the public safety needs, the "green" needs, the infrastructure needs and the needs of neighbors by connecting with each other at special events, responding to concerns, proactively seeking out problematic issues, and by building great relationships with each other, our neighborhoods all around us and with those at City Hall. Lake Ridge is a great place to live, work and play. We promote Unity in the Community, and we walk the talk.
If you wish contact us, you may do so here online, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 954.372.5679. Thank you for visiting our web site, and have a great day!
41 Lake Ridge residence showed up to speak up, impressive! City Staff laid out the proposed plans then turn the workshop over to us. Suggestions on possible crosswalks, bicycle lanes and sharrows, trolley stops, ADA compliance and so much more were discussed in length. Participants were able to place their ideas on maps of the community provided by City Staff which they will review and incorporate and in a subsequent workshop present to community. Now that is what I call progress.
